When you alight at Okuoi Kojo Station, you will notice an observation deck. Yume no Tsuribashi, also known as Sumatakyo Bridge of Dreams, is a 90-metre-long suspension bridge whose narrow walkway allows for only 10 people to cross at any given time! According to local folklore, women who cross the bridge and make a romantic wish at the halfway mark would have their wish fulfilled, which explains the bridge’s moniker. Whether you believe in the legend or not, one thing is for sure: Suspended across the sparkling emerald waters of Sumata River and surrounded by lush foliage, Sumatakyo Bridge of Dreams is one of the most spectacular suspension bridges in the world.
