On August 6, the Japan Fruit and Vegetables Export Promotion Council (headquartered in Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo) and Pasona Agri-Partners Inc. (headquartered in Minato-ku, Tokyo) co-hosted a business meeting at the five-star hotel Dusit Thani Laguna Singapore to expand the market for Japanese produce.
The event, titled the “Japan Fresh Produce Export Promotion Council Singapore Business Meeting,” invited four companies from Japan and nine companies from Singapore, primarily local distributors with a history of importing and selling Japanese produce.
The showcased products included eight items: frozen roasted sweet potatoes from Calbee Kaitsu Sweet Potato Co., Ltd. (Beni Tenshi), Yamaimo from Tako City and concentrated apple juice from Aomori Prefecture by Mynavi Corporation, Shine Muscat grapes, peaches, and melons from JA Zen-Noh International, and Shine Muscat grapes and house mandarin oranges from the Brand Oita Export Promotion Council.
On the day of the event, Chef Jordan of Dusit Thani Laguna Singapore prepared sweets using these showcased products, including Shine Muscat shortcake, caramelized peaches, musk melon sago, and Malaysian dessert bobo cha cha using roasted sweet potatoes and yamaimo.
These sweets featuring Japanese produce will be available for a limited time at the hotel’s buffet corner.
