Celebrate the sake season in Singapore with the exciting lineup of sake events, starting with A Day of Sake on 1 October. The Oishii Kanpai! booklet is available now, with more information on these events.
The Day of Sake 1st October 2015
Held in Lewin Terrace, this event celebrates the start of sake season in Japan with a sampling of 8 delicious types of sake, perfectly paired with Japanese-French finger food. Sake brewery owners from Nishinoseki Syuzo and Ichishima Syuzo will be present to share with participants the sake brewing process. The night will end with a special Kanpai moment, as participants in Singapore Skype with Tokyo and Saga prefecture in Japan to usher in the season of sake merriment.
Sake Week 1st to 15th October 2015
For the first two weeks in October, some 50 participating restaurants would be offering special set menus, including sakes, at a special price. During Sake Week, patrons can also stand a chance to win one of 300 sets of sake goods by bringing along a Stamp Sheet (available in Oishii Kanpai! booklet or participating restaurants) and having different sakes in five participating restaurants.
HASHIGO-Go at Mohamed Sultan Road 1st to 15th October 2015
Hashigo is a colloquial Japanese term that refers to bar-hopping or pub crawl.
This practice comes to Singapore during Sake Week, as participants join in the
bar-hopping experience and receive exclusive deals on sake and finger food, simply by mentioning “Hashigo” to the staff at any participating restaurant. Additionally, there will be an ongoing Facebook contest on the Oishii Kanpai Facebook page, crowning the first-ever HASHIGO Champion.
